I have stated before that I am not a fan of AI and this is true. But I would like to say that I have found that it can generate images that I like, which include this one. It is a beautiful picture of a young man sitting in a comfortable chair in front of a small fire in what looks like a library full of books, in front of a big window with a lot of plants and perhaps a forest like setting outside. I even like the details of the teapot and candles on the table that gives feelings of coziness and comfort. It is very much a place that I could see myself in or would like to visit for a couple of days of quiet reading and writing time.
I do have some rather exciting news to share! I have found a cover designer for my novel, The Zumba Class. I have a contact who is a professor of Visual Communication Design at Purdue and he has introduced me to a senior student who has agreed to the job. I am currently waiting for her to send me three draft designs that should come in the next three or four days and then we will go from there. She has a good idea of what I want and like, so I am quite excited. This means that I should be able to start presells for the paperback version of The Zumba Class hopefully before Christmas. Obviously, I am hoping that the paperback does better than the eBook (which sales have been modest to say the least) because I would like to sell enough to possibly break even on what I am putting into the cover design. However, I understand the importance of this and using a professional, especially since I have no idea what I am doing as far as trying to design a cover. This is really exciting and the best thing that I could get for Christmas this year to have my novel on sale as a paperback and for it to do well!
I just finished reading I Think We've Been Here Before by Suzy Krause. I did enjoy this book and found it to be beautiful and emotional. I am not sure if I would call it a Christmas book, but it is about the characters all learning that the world is going to end in two months and how they react and live their lives as a result. There is a strong sense of déjà vu throughout the story and I must say that I thought the ending was clever and made me realize or think about the whole rest of the novel up to that point in a new, beautiful, but also sad way. I don't want to spoil the book since it is a new release, but I did enjoy this novel and would suggest it to anyone else who might be interested in reading this type of story.
I would like to write about other things going on like my thoughts on the current state of the world, politics, and other ideas and opinions I have, but perhaps in another post soon because I want to keep this one positive and about writing and reading. In the meantime, I hope that everyone continues to take care of yourselves and those that you love.
