Current Thoughts

This is Yaong (which means "meow" in Korean and can be used as a word for cat) and she is beautiful! We have had her for about four years now and think she is between four and five years old. She found us as she was mainly an outdoor cat but is now entirely an indoor cat. The birds, rabbits, and other critters are grateful, I have no doubt. She is a very social cat and likes people and at times acts more like a dog than a cat. For example, she is always there at the door or comes to greet us when we come home meowing and wanting to be petted. Now, our cat is not the main reason I decided to post this morning, but cat pictures draw attention.

Quick novel update, I have written about 147 pages now, so I am making progress. My unofficial goal is to finish the first draft before the semester starts in August. It is getting a bit complicated as I have eight different narratives going on with eight main characters, but realize there could be more. Am I writing a novel or a screenplay? I am trying to think about where this is going but I have to hold myself back from that temptation and saying that I need to finish in this many pages or this is what is going to happen because then it won't be as good. I just need to keep writing and let the novel finish when it finishes.

As far as the state of the upcoming election, I am glad that more and more people are starting to realize that President Biden should not be our man because I feel like there is enough writing on the wall to say he will lose to Trump in November. I am happy that George Clooney wrote his op-ed, there are some senators starting to say that Biden should bow out gracefully, and this is reflecting what voters and ordinary citizens have been saying for quite some time now. I think with all of his defiance in interviews, writing a letter to congress, etc. that he is not going to drop out just confirms that he is a stubborn grumpy old man, which is really not comforting or ideal traits in someone I want to be our president. I hope that the pressure ramps up even more and calls become louder for him to step down and to get a better nominee like pronto! This needs to get figured out for the sake of the country and to avoid a disastorious convention that includes infighting, we need to present a unified and progressive party. This is my hope because I can't really imagine or want to keep thinking about what a Trump presidency would look like.
