A House Full of Cats

Decisions have been made and we now have three cats hanging out with us. The first picture is of our original cat, Yaong (far left), who came to us in 2020 before we moved. Then came Fluffy (far right) at the end of last year through my daughter's friend's father. Finally, Tux (middle picture) is a new cat that started hanging around our house and we were feeding him/her although I am pretty sure Tux is a she. For about two weeks now, she has been in the house and spending the night inside. However, she still goes outside two to three times a day, but has been coming back. I am not sure if we will ever get Tux to the vet, but hopefully at some point. I would like Tux to become an entirely 100% indoor cat, but baby steps and also when the weather warms up, it will be harder.

Not to mention, the different personalities and dynamics between these cats is sometimes interesting to put it mildly. First, Yaong is a queen and has been sensitive and a bit upset by having to share the house with two other cats. Fluffy is a carefree cat that doesn't seem to be the smartest or think too much. Tux seems to be sweet, but is smart and doesn't like Yaong being so mean to her. Sometimes we have cat fights because Yaong and Tux can handle themselves and avoid fighting, but then Fluffy will jump in between them out of nowhere and cause a massive cat fight. In conclusion, before Yaong came along I never considered myself a cat person, but now I consider myself a cat dad.

We are having a bit of a false spring this week. I had a pretty good 8-mile run outside yesterday, so that was nice. Since last Friday, I have managed to run a bit over 19 miles, which is great and would like to get to 25-30 miles in by Friday. This would be the most I have run in a week since probably November. However, the reason that I brought up the nice weather is because I have started asparagus and ground cherry seeds inside. The asparagus is a long-term investment as I won't be able to harvest any asparagus to eat for about three years, but it sounds good. I am hoping to get a good crop of ground cherries this year as I have planted seeds in 13 little individual seed starting pods. I am going to also start cabbage, tomato, pepper, dill, and possibly some other seeds soon. I am going to try to plant some dill around my rosebushes in the front yard to hopefully help repel some aphids that attack them in May.

What else has been going on? I am about 60% done typing out my third novel that I finished writing this past summer. I am hoping some people to read it that have finished reading my second novel when I am finished typing it out. I don't have a title yet, I have some ideas, but hoping some people might possibly be able to help with that. I think it is my shortest novel, but this story like the second novel is important to me.

I am not saying that my first novel, The Zumba Class is not important, but just Betty & Clark and this third novel seem a bit more intimate and personal to me. By the way, sales of The Zumba Class have been decent, but have started to drop off. Part of this might be due to the fact that I have stopped actively promoting it on all my social media channels and I will just have to rely on readers' word of mouth for now. I am still deciding if I am going to publish Betty & Clark this year because it is work and there is a lot I have to do to put myself out there as an author. I would also like to try to find another convenient and free way to publish without using Amazon and supporting the billionaire who owns it.

I think there is a lot more to say including the state of the nation and how we all should be standing up to this current president and his administration and how we can raise our voices to resist this blatant attempt to take over all branches of government with no regard for checks and balances and the constitution. But I'll save that for another post.

I apologize for not updating this with a post sooner, but things have been busy. The semester started last week and it is going pretty...
